The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) warned of the dangerous repercussions of nitrous gas permeation on the lives of thousands of patients who need urgent and emergency surgeries to save their lives in the Gaza Strip. The Center stressed that the primary responsibility for providing medical supplies to the residents of the Gaza Strip lies with Israel, in accordance with Articles 55 and 56 of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949. The Center further called on the international community and the World Health Organization (WHO) to pressure Israel to abide by its duties, and to allow the entry of all medical needs into the Gaza Strip, especially nitrous gas needed to complete surgical operations for thousands of patients in the Gaza Strip, in order to spare these patients the risk of death or serious complications resulting from not performing or delaying the necessary surgeries for them.
