Mansouria Douaoudi and Okba Khadraoui, two researchers, have published a new study in the Journal of Constitutional Law and Political Institutions under the title “The right of return of Palestinian refugees and the Deal of the Century”. The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of the Deal of the Century on the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homeland. The research aims to shed light on the American-Israeli arrangement, called the “Deal of the Century,” which claimed to be an attempt to achieve peace among Palestinians and Israelis. The research was divided into three sections: the first dealt with the Palestinian refugee and the right of return, the second delt with the concept of the century deal and its contents, and the third delt with the right of Palestinian refugees to return in light of the century deal. The research suggested thwarting the century’s deal through several recomendations, the most important of which is the ought to expand UNRWA’s personal jurisdiction over Palestinian refugees by amending its definition of a Palestinian refugee to include every Palestinian who has refugee status under international law even if not registered with UNRWA.
