Our reference point:
The idea of Law for Palestine was conceived to parallel the United Nations philosophy addressing the “Question of Palestine”. In 1975, the United Nations General Assembly created what is known as the “Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People” (Resolution 3376), by which we have been accredited in July 2022, and since its inception, the mandate for this Committee has been renewed annually until now. The Committee aims to enable the Palestinian people to exercise their inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination, the right to independence and sovereignty, and the right to return refugees to their homes and properties from which they were abandoned. Moreover, the Committee’s work includes organizing international conferences and training, working with civil society, and establishing the United Nations Information System on the Question of Palestine (UNISPAL).
In the same way, Law for Palestine works in parallel, and alongside, to be a common place for people interested in international law and Palestine from all over the world, and to provide training and raise awareness in this field. It also seeks to establish an information system that collects all materials related to Palestine and international law. This initiative is not intended to cover only the United Nations, but rather includes materials provided by states, governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as academic and research institutions around the world.
