The Sabanci University of Turkey published a PhD thesis by researcher Rumeysa Betül entitled: “Climbing the ladder of recognition: Palestinian path to the ICC”. This thesis analyzes the reason for Palestine’s admission to the Rome Statute, the treaty that established the International Criminal Court (ICC), and the legal and political repercussions of engaging the International Criminal Court in the Israel-Palestine conflict. Besides, this thesis examines the Palestinian Authority’s decision to join the International Criminal Court at three levels of analysis: international, interstate, and domestic.
