Adalah, Al-Haq, Al-Quds University, and the Civic Coalition for Palestinian Rights announce the International Conference on Jerusalem “Spark towards liberation”. The conference aims to build on the momentum sparked by the Uprising in Jerusalem May last year, and to further expand on the discourse of settler colonialism and apartheid that the Uprising reinforced internationally. Speakers will include UN legal experts, policymakers, Palestinian and international civil society members, activists and academics, who will focus on Jerusalem as an annexed city and examine Israeli geo-demographic domination in Jerusalem. The speakers will also explore the continuation of the 1948 Nakba and the Zionist settler-colonial project through Israel’s political, social, economic and cultural domination of Jerusalem. The conference will also seek strategies and tactics to transform the discourse into concrete actions in pursuit of the liberation and decolonization of Palestine. The conference will be held in a hybrid format, both in person at Al-Quds University’s Auditorium, Abu Dis, Jerusalem, and via Zoom on Tuesday 24 May 2022 at 9:00-15:30 Palestine Time.
