The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel-Adalah issued a press release marking the twentieth anniversary of the October 2000 incident, at the outbreak of the Second Intifada, during which Israeli police officers shot Palestinians protesting the killing and wounding of Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. In the press release, Adalah also refers to the killing of the Israeli police in 2017, Ya’akub Abu al-Qi’an, and linking it to the October 2000 cases, claiming that the two incidents did not result in criminal charges filed against law enforcement authorities, including the police.
