Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights held the international community legally and ethically responsible for releasing Palestinian detainees from the Israeli occupation prisons. The association denounced the tragic conditions prisoners deal with under the spread of the Covid-19 virus in Israeli prisons and the failure of the Israeli occupation to provide the necessary preventive measures to prevent the spread of the virus, in a contravention to Israel’s international obligations under international humanitarian and human rights laws. The association also considered these and other policies serious violations under the Third and Fourth Geneva Conventions of 1949 and the Additional Protocol I of 1977 to the fourth Geneva Conventions.
