Al-Haq, in partnership with the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights, and Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights, issued a detailed study entitled “Response to amicus curiae submission regarding the state of Palestine before the ICC.” The study provides an analysis of the testimonies of the ICC amicus curiae, which were submitted by Australia, Austria, Brazil, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, and Uganda, in addition to several academics and institutions.
The joint institutions analyzed the legal objections submitted by the amicus curiae and found that these analyzes were unconvincing and reached the conclusion that the Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court cannot prevent the Prosecutor from conducting a full, free and detailed investigation into international crimes, including war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated in the occupied Palestinian territory.
