About four thousand Americans demanded their country’s President, Joe Biden, to intervene to release 74 Palestinian university students who were arrested by the Israeli occupation forces for expressing political positions that rejected the Israeli occupation. Activists in solidarity with Palestinian rights demanded, through a petition they launched, the US President and members of Congress to exercise their influence to protect Palestinian students from the oppressive occupation measures against them, and release the students. The petition noted that in October 2020, the occupation authorities classified the student frameworks at Birzeit University as illegal organizations among attempts to suppress student activity and silence Palestinian freedom demands. The petition addressed to President Biden promotes and identifies freedom of expression and peaceful association as part of fundamental and universal human rights. For further details, click here
