More than 80 NGOs human rights organizations from around the world – at the initiative of the Law for Palestine organization – issued a joint statement of condemnation against the systematic Israeli policies on Jerusalem, the displacement of Palestinians from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, the continuous incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the aggression against unarmed civilians in the Gaza Strip. In this statement, human rights organizations called on the United Nations General Assembly, the Security Council, UNESCO and the Human Rights Council to provide international protection for occupied Jerusalem and the Jerusalemites. The human rights organizations, judges, lawyers, community activists, and human rights and legal institutions around the world called for engagement in the global stand for the holy city, next Sunday, May 16, 2021 to express solidarity with the Palestinian people against racist Israeli policies and to ensure accountability and respect for international law.
