This year marks 75 years since the Nakba, when Zionist militias forced more than 700,000 Palestinians from their homes and land to establish the State of Israel.
To commemorate this anniversary, Jewish Currents, in collaboration with the Institute for Middle East Understanding (IMEU) and Project48, announced that they are seeking photographs and brief reflections from Palestinian readers about the meaning of the Nakba to their families and communities, to be published in Jewish Currents.
The magazine announced that they are accepting submissions in English or Arabic, and the latter will be translated into English. Selected submissions will be edited and published, along with the images in a collective photo essay, on Nakba Day (May 15th).
Please send submissions of photos and captions to [email protected] by April 21st with the subject line ‘NAKBA PHOTO.’
