The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs confirmed that the prisoners currently in the “Ofer” prison are living in extremely tragic conditions as a result of the violent attacks they were subjected to from specific repressive units that targeted sections (19) and (20) during the past days. In its released report, the commission said that since the death of the prisoner Dawood Al-Khatib earlier this month, the Ofer prison’s administration has attacked the prisoners by conducting successive incursions into their rooms, destroying their property, severely assaulting them, shackling them, spraying them with tear gas, and isolating them inside Cells. The CDA called on the institutions of the international community to put an end to these barbaric and inhuman attacks that have escalated since last year against the prisoners. It also called for pressing on Israel to abide by international laws and covenants when dealing with Palestinian prisoners. To check the news, click here.
