Defense Minister and Alternate Prime Minister of Israel Benny Gantz stated that it was the generals in the Israeli army who wanted peace the most. Gantz believes that Jerusalem is “vast” enough for a Palestinian capital and said, “Jerusalem must remain united, but there will be a place for a Palestinian capital. It is a very spacious city and full of sacred sites for all.” The Palestinians want and deserve an entity in which to live independently”, Gantz added. Regarding peace and normalization agreements between Israel and the UAE, then Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco, Gantz stressed that he does not see an integrated peace in the Middle East without settling the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and called on the Palestinian leadership and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to join the peace process and “not stay in the back rows”.To check the news click here
