The Israeli government decided to expand an illegal Israeli colony, built on Palestinian land, near Nablus in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, multiplying its current size by fivefold. Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors Israel’s illegal activities in the northern West Bank, said that the Israeli authorities have approved a huge plan to expand Shvut Rachel settlement, by constructing 534 additional units. These units are built on lands owned by citizens in Jaloud and Turmus Ayya, south of Nablus. Daghlas added that the new plan will increase colonialism by fivefold in the settlement that was built in 1991 on the lands of Jaloud and Turmus Ayya. He also stated that the plan aims at turning the land from agricultural nature into residential areas and public buildings. For further details, click here.
