Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh sent a letter on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, in which he affirmed the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, and the right of return and compensation to refugees following Resolution 194, and saluted the Arab peoples who refused normalization with Israel. The Prime Minister called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations General Security, António Guterres, and the Chairman of the Committee for the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, Cheikh Niang, to urge the countries in solidarity with the Palestinian people to recognize the independent state of Palestine in implementation of international legitimacy resolutions.
