Six Israeli and Palestinian human rights organizations have petitioned the Israeli High Court of Justice, demanding that Israel take immediate steps to ensure the regular supply of vaccines to the Palestinian population under its occupation. The organizations affirmed in their petition the legal and moral obligations of Israel towards the Palestinians as a result of its continued occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The petition also indicated the deteriorating situation of the Palestinian economy and the health sector as a result of the restrictions imposed by the occupation for years, which led to an acute shortage of doctors and medical supplies, and how that enhances the difficulty of coping with the COVID-19 pandemic.
