The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riyad Al-Maliki, sent letters to the members of the International Quartet at the ministerial level, to follow up on his previous letters about holding legislative and presidential elections in the occupied Palestinian state, including East Jerusalem. The Foreign Minister pointed out the importance of holding elections, especially in East Jerusalem, following international law, and the agreements signed between Israel and Palestine. He called on the international Quartet to exert pressure on Israel, to enable Jerusalemites to exercise their rights to take part in the elections, both as candidates and voters, as they did in previous elections.
