The Minister of Jerusalem Affairs, Fadi Al-Hidmi, called on the international community to immediately and urgently intervene in order to stop the displacement of Palestinians from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan in occupied East Jerusalem. The Minister indicated that these actions are part of a policy aimed at implementing settlement plans. Al-Hidmi pointed out that the Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah have been facing, since 1974, unfair lawsuits ordering their evacuation in favor of settler organizations working to establish a settlement on the rubble of their homes. He called on Arab and Islamic countries to adopt positions similar to those issued by Jordan against Israeli settlements. Al-Hidami said that these Israeli actions are a crime against international norms and laws and calls for urgent and immediate intervention by the international community.
