The Minister of Women’s Affairs in Palestine, Amal Hamad, called on the Security Council to issue a new resolution following Resolution 1325 and other resolutions based on it, to address current gaps in the agenda for women, peace and security, namely those related to the status of women in the occupied State of Palestine. Hamad called for the need to work on building the capacity of the Palestinian institutional mechanisms in monitoring Israeli violations, in accordance with the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court and from the perspective of gender equality.
