The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expats condemned the attempt by Israeli settlers to establish a new settlement outpost in the Jordan Valley, to link the settlements together and turn them into a large settlement city. The Ministry considered the establishment of this outpost an integral part of Israel’s plans to force the Palestinian citizens to leave their lands. The Ministry also condemned the Israeli occupation’s control of the Ain al-Hilweh in the northern Jordan Valley, and other plans aimed at demolishing all Bedouin communities in the area and displacing its residents. The Ministry called on the international community and the relevant international organizations and courts to take urgent action to stop settlement building and expansion that take over the majority of the occupied Jordan Valley and to stop the ethnic cleansing of residents there. Furthermore, the Ministry stressed that the lack of punitive measure against Israel as an occupying power only emboldens the occupation state to persist in seizing more Palestinian land and in undermining any opportunity to achieve peace based on the two-state solution.
