The Palestinian MOFAE condemned the decision of the occupation authorities to the closure of Gaza Sea and a maritime blockade to Palestinian fishermen as an extension of the siege and collective sanctions imposed on the Gaza Strip. The decision was considered a flagrant violation of international law and an an attack on the fundamental civil rights of Palestinian citizens. The Ministry called upon the United Nations Security Council and relevant United Nations organizations and councils to shoulder their responsibilities in pressing the occupying power to reverse this decision immediately, and to impose deterrent international sanctions on Israel to compel its to respect the international law.
