The Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations Network (PNGO) and the Palestinian Human Rights Organizations Council (PHROC)  issued a statement denouncing “the toxic incitement and defunding campaign against the Union of Agricultural Work Committees” (UAWC), an organization that is a long-time member of the PNGO. The Palestinian organizations stated that this campaign escalated after the Dutch government announced recently that it will launch a review of the work of the Union of Agricultural Work Committees and suspend its funding for it. The organizations said that they regret these steps by the Dutch government, pointing out that the decision of the Dutch government had been preceded and stimulated by a coordinated campaign for organizations closely facilitated with the Israeli government. The organizations believed that the Dutch review would have a catalytic effect on slandering the Palestinian civil society on a larger scale, stressing the importance of ensuring that the Duch government review will not be tampered with by the Israeli government and its affiliated organizations.
