The Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions stated that the Israeli occupation refused to compensate Palestinian workers for the closures it imposed to confront the outbreak of the COVID-19, which caused losses of about $ 250 million. The Secretary-General of the Union, Shaher Saad, said in a press conference: that the Corona pandemic revealed the reality of the occupation’s treatment of the Palestinian worker, and the occupation’s refusal to compensate them despite the compensation provided by Israeli law for foreign workers. In a report, PGFTU recommended calling on international institutions to exert enough pressure on the Israeli occupation government to treat the Palestinian worker as the Israeli worker, in terms of increasing the number of observers on work facilities, providing them with safety tools, and granting them health insurance similar to what the Israeli carries.
