The Palestinian Prisoners and Detainees’ Affairs Commission – through its legal staff – submitted a petition to the Israeli Supreme Court, to appeal the administrative detention decision issued against the prisoner Mujahid Hamed from Silwad town in Ramallah governorate, who is continuing his strike for the 13th consecutive day in refusal of his administrative detention. Another petition was made to appeal the administrative detention decision issued against hunger striker Salem Zaidat (40 years), from the town of Bani Naim, Hebron district, who has been on strike for 16 days. The commission explained that the court rejected the petition submitted by the prisoner, Zaidat, while the prosecution offered to renew his administrative detention for a period of 3 months, which the prisoner rejected, and confirmed the continuation of his strike until the end of his administrative detention. The commission held the Israeli occupation prisons administration fully responsible for the lives of all the striking prisoners, who are under great pressure to discourage them from continuing the strike.
