The Palestinian National Council called on the world’s parliaments to take serious action at all legal and political levels and to work with their governments to impose sanctions on Israel’s government in order to end its occupation and prevent it from implementing the annexation plans for the territories of the occupied Palestinian state. In the identical letters sent by its president, Salim Zanoun, to the heads of Arab, Islamic, African, and Asian parliamentary unions, the Arab Parliament, the European Parliament, the International Parliamentary Union, European and Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly, and to a number of heads of specific national parliaments in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America, he reminded them of their responsibilities towards what the Palestinian people are suffering since 72 years, after the Nakba in 1948.
