The Palestinian Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates (MOFAE), Amal Jadu, held a session of the Palestinian-Lithuanian political consultations with the Director of the Latin America, Asia and Africa Department, Audrius Bruzga. Jadu called on Lithuania and the European Union to pressure Israel to allow Palestinian elections to be held in East Jerusalem. In turn, Bruzga affirmed Lithuania’s firm position on the Palestinian issue in accordance with the agreed international references, indicating that his country will continue to support Palestine, especially the Palestinian efforts to hold parliamentary and presidential elections. Bruzga also welcomed any peace initiative that would contribute to establishing stability and security in the Middle East and achieving an internationally assembled two-state solution.
