The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates (MOFAE) said that the spread of what it described as settler terror in different forms in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, reflects a state of international indifference to the plight and suffering of the Palestinian people. It also reflects the international community’s abandonment of its legal and moral responsibilities towards the protection of Palestinians and Palestinian lands. The Ministry further condemned the settlers’ burning of more than 50 perennial olive trees in the town of Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem, stating that this is an extension of the Israeli occupation’s assault on Palestinian lands. The Ministry held the Israeli government fully and directly responsible for these violations, which often take place either with the participation of the Israeli army or under its protection, and for which there’s no accountability.
