The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Palestinian Expatriates, Riyad al-Maliki, called on his Irish counterpart Simon Coveney to continue exerting pressure on Israel not to block the holding of elections in all of the Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem. Al-Maliki considered that the legal status of Jerusalem cannot be compromised, as it is the eternal capital of the State of Palestine.
