The President of the Palestinian National Council, Saleem Zanoun, addressed the parliamentarians of Serbia and Kosovo regarding their country’s intention to open embassies in the occupied city of Jerusalem, in contravention of international law and relevant international legitimacy decisions. In two letters to the President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Maja Gojković, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Kosovo, Fusia Osmani, Zaanoun called for exerting pressure on their government to review their steps that do not support peace, to specifically announce their abolition and adhere to international law. He also urged his Serbian and Kosovar counterparts not to respond to the threats of US President Donald Trump, and to abide by and comply with UN Security Council resolutions, especially Resolutions 476 and 478 of 1980 and Resolution 2334 of 2016, calling on all countries not to keep diplomatic missions in Jerusalem.
