On this day in 1989, the UNSC adopted resolution (636), in which it regretted the continued expulsion of Palestinian civilians by Israel (the occupying power) and called upon it to ensure the safe and immediate return to the occupied Palestinian territory and to cease immediately the expulsion of other Palestinian civilians.
