The State of Palestine called on the special rapporteurs of the United Nations to urge Israel, the occupying power, to refrain from resorting to the “brutal and barbaric policy” of seizing the bodies of martyrs and to abolish any law that allows such action.  It also called for releasing the bodies of martyrs and returning them to their families and conducting real, impartial, independent, and effective investigations about the cause of the detainees and peaceful protester’s death. This came in a letter sent by the Permanent Observer Mission of the State of Palestine to the United Nations in Geneva, to the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, and other special rapporteurs.
