The Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) and Religious Affairs condemned the storming by hundreds of settlers, protected by Israeli occupation forces, of the courtyards of al-Aqsa Mosque and of the Mosque of Prophet Yunus (Prophet Jonah) in the town of Halhul, north of Hebron. The ministry also condemned their storming of “Nabi Musa” shrine in the town of Tuqu’ to perform Talmudic prayers. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Hussam Abu al-Rub, said that these acts clearly indicate Israeli incitement against Islamic and Christian sanctities and sites in Palestine and that these crimes are a blatant attack on Muslims and their religious feelings. Safe places of worship no longer exist in light of the attacks and crimes committed by the Israeli occupation and illegal settlers, Mr Abu al-Rub said, considering these attacks to be racist and provocative.
