The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expats (MOFAE) said that Israeli Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, announced – a few hours before his meeting with US President Joe Biden – his adamant stance against peace. The Foreign Ministry added that Bennett affirmed his rejection of establishing a Palestinian state, and stressed that his government will continue the traditional policy of building for the purposes of the natural increase of settlers in the West Bank, and claimed that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and not the capital of other countries, revealing that the Israeli government under his leadership will not hold any talks regarding peace with the Palestinians. The Foreign Ministry condemned Bennett’s statements, considering them further aggression against the Palestinian people and their national rights, and disregarding the declared US positions towards the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, especially those that reject settlements and adhere to the two-state solution with the cessation of unilateral measures. The Foreign Ministry also considered these positions a disregard for international law, international legitimacy and its resolutions, and the positions and demands of countries that call for reviving the peace process in accordance with the principle of the two-state solution, while condemning settlements and calling for their cessation.
