The head of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, Nasser Abu Bakr, said that PJS monitored 420 Israeli violations against journalists in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Jerusalem during the year 2020. We recorded 106 violations in Jerusalem, which indicates direct targeting to prevent covering the news, Abu Bakr said. PJS filed a complaint in May and December of last year to the International Criminal Court and the United Nations human rights special rapporteurs against Israeli violations of journalists, he added.
