Researcher Ömer Bedir published a paper entitled “The Flotilla Incident from the Perspective of International Law and the Judicial Rights of the Victims” in the Journal of Human Rights Age, Volume No. 15. The researcher studies the incident of May 31, 2010, when Israeli soldiers intercepted the Mavi Marmara flotilla that sailed on a humanitarian mission to break the Israeli blockade to Gaza, where nine civilians have lost their lives in the incident and 55 others were injured. The researcher states that the victims of the Mavi Marmara have the right to file lawsuits, both nationally and internationally, against the Israeli officers who participated in the operation.
