The Association for Civil Rights, Physicians for Human Rights, Adalah, the Center for the Defense of the Individual, and Rabbis for Human Rights filed a petition to the Israeli High Court of Justice (HCJ) against the decision of the Israeli Minister of Public Security Amir Ohana, which stipulated that prisoners should not be vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine. The petition was accompanied by a medical opinion of the Association of Public Health Physicians from the Israeli Medical Association, which stated that “prisoners must be treated as a captive population. The organizations called on the court to issue a decision requiring the Israel Prison Service (IPS) to vaccinate all prisoners, especially those over the age of 60.
