Five Israeli human rights organizations – Physicians for Human Rights / Israel, Adalah, HaMoked and Rabbis for Human Rights – petitioned the Israeli High Court of Justice (HCJ) against the Israeli Minister of Public Security’s decision to prohibit the Israel Prisons Service (IPS) from vaccinating prisoners at this time. The petitioning organizations demanded that the IPS be ordered to vaccinate all prisoners according to the priorities set by the Ministry of Health (prisoners aged 60 years or over or who suffer from pre-existing medical conditions). They also requested the HCJt to void the minister’s decision to prioritize the vaccination of prison staff, at the expense of the prisoners. To check the news, click here
