In a meeting with the New United Nations Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator in Palestine Lynn Hastings, Palestinian Minister of Social Affairs Ahmed Majdalani stressed the position of the government and the Palestinian people not to trade off their legitimate rights for humanitarian aid. Majdalani also expressed his concern over the attempt to politicize humanitarian aid, calling it a threat to human rights. For her part, Hastings affirmed the joint cooperation between the United Nations and the Ministry of Social Development to enhance living conditions and alleviate human suffering experienced by Palestinians.
