Israel announced the closure of the Gaza fishing zone forbidding Palestinians from sailing off the coast in response to continued rocket fire. COGAT Unit, a military unit that manages civil affairs in the Palestinian territories including the occupied West Bank, said that the area would be forbidden for use starting 6 a.m. local time (03:00 GMT) until further notice and would be restricted from 15 to 9 miles, according to Israeli news outlets. “This is because of the continued rocket fire from the Gaza Strip at Israeli territory during the night,” COGAT said in a statement.
