The Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR), addressed the Agence France Presse (AFP) regarding the termination of the services of its reporter in the West Bank, Nasser Abu Bakr, head of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS), expressing its fear that this decision came against the background of his legitimate work with PJS. The commission demanded that the Agence France Presse reconsider its decision, notably that Abu Bakr worked for the agency for about twenty years.ICHR confirmed that freedom of union work is legitimate and guaranteed in accordance with all national and international laws and regulations, including the French ones, calling on the Agence France Presse to reconsider its decision and not respond to any kind of pressure to make decisions that violate the labor law against any of its employees.
