the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the denial of Israel supreme court for the submitted appeal regrading giving back the body of 26-year-old-man, Ahmad Erekat, from Abu-dis, south-East of the occupied Jerusalem, who was killed in June 2020 by IDF at the “Container” checkpoint. The Ministry explained that the silence of the international community on holding responsibility toward the crime of withholding Palestinian martyrs is a proof that its role ends when the issue is related to Israel. Though, the international community should be the entity that organizes, protects, and defends the intentional law and the intentional justice. It also added that withholding the martyrs’ bodies for different periods of time is a grave violation to the international law and human rights. The Ministry added that it follows up this case at all levels with the relevant UN Organizations, especially Human Rights Council, along with the relevant authorities, especially National Campaign for Retrieval of the Bodies of Martyrs.
