Mohsen al Attar and Nciko wa Nciko, along with Opinio Juris, are inviting scholars, practitioners, activists, artists, and individuals from Africa, its diasporas, and the broader Third World to contribute to a symposium titled: “Unbreakable Bond: Tracing the Ties Between African and Palestinian Anti-Colonial Struggles.”
The symposium aims to explore the significance of Palestinian liberation for African peoples and states. It also welcomes contributions on parallel histories of oppression and resistance, the impact of racial imperialism on the global order, and the political, social, and cultural ties between African and Palestinian destinies.
Interested individuals can contact al Attar and Nciko at [email protected] with a proposed title or topic by the end of May 2024. Once accepted, contributors will have 6 weeks to submit their work, with the symposium scheduled for the second half of July 2024.
Submissions from Palestinian colleagues, students, and activists struggling to be published on these topics are particularly encouraged.
