Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Dr. Hanan Ashrawi, called on the French government to implement its previous commitment and recognize the Palestinian state soon, in its meeting with the French Consul General in Jerusalem, Mr. René Troccaz and called for taking serious and effective steps to confront the so-called “deal of the century” and the Israeli annexation plan. Ashrawi emphasized on the need for an international initiative that includes a multilateral coalition to uphold international law and prevent the annexation process. Within the framework of France’s presidency of the Security Council this month, Ashrawi stressed the need to urge the Secretary-General of the United Nations to submit his comprehensive report on Israel’s failure to comply with Security Council Resolution 2334 on the settlement.
