Members of the Chicago Coalition Against War and Racism (CCAWR) demonstrated in front of the office of the U.S. Representative for Illinois Jan Schakowsky against her support for Israel. The protesters condemned Schakowsky’s supportive position for Israel and for its “right to defend itself” during its last aggression on the Gaza Strip and Jerusalem. Protesters held posters telling US rep Jan Schakowsky that his support helps Israel imprison Palestinian children in military courts. Activities in support of Palestinian rights are still taking place in different cities in the U.S. It recently expanded to demonstrations against social media companies which closed accounts of dozens of Palestinian activists, to demonstrations in front of the offices of US representatives supporting Israel.
