The Palestinian Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Amal Jadu, chaired the Palestinian-Finnish political consultations session, in which she called on Finland and the international community to support the elections and eliminate any obstacles that Israel might put to hinder it, especially in East Jerusalem – in terms of candidacy and election. Finland and the international community called for binding Israel, as an occupying power, to comply with the international will for peace, end its occupation and accede with the decisions of the international legitimacy, while emphasising the need for the international community to support President Mahmoud Abbas’s call for an international peace conference under international auspices. The Finnish side affirmed that Palestine enjoys a privileged position in the Finnish development programs, and announced the fulfilment of preparations to the strategic development plan for Palestine for 2021-2024.
