The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel submitted a petition to the Israeli Supreme Court, in which it stated that the government’s policy of distributing budgets after the COVID-19 crisis does not take the requirements and standards of Arab towns into consideration, and this is against the law. Adalah called for fair and equitable budgets for Arab municipalities for the financial damage caused during the two months of the COVID-19 crisis. Adalah expressed its regret that the Israeli government’s policies have resulted in allocations of Arab local municipalities up to only 1.7 percent of the assistance provided to all local municipalities nationwide, which led to severe economic crises in the Arab municipalities.
