Bezalel Smotrich, a member of the Israeli “Yamina “ alliance, along with 19 deputies from the right-wing settlement blocs, presented a bill before the Knesset to abolish the “civil administration” in the occupied West Bank, to be replaced by Israeli ministries. It is a bill that implicitly establishes what is called “Israeli sovereignty” on the West Bank but in a different direction. The law relates to West Bank settlers, as they receive their “services” directly from the Israeli government, not from the Civil Administration. As for the Palestinians in the West Bank, the draft law proposes the formation of directorates for coordination and communication, according to the areas in which they reside.
