A recent report issued by the HaMoked Center for the Defense of the Individual, an Israeli human rights institution, dealt with the violations committed by Israel towards Palestinian administrative detainees through depriving them of their rights. The report said that the idea of administrative detention is a violation of international law because it is not based on any real charges, but rather it is an attempt to circumvent the law. In addition, the report documented the presence of 437 administrative detainees at the present time, including two minors, and 103 cases whose detention was extended for more than a year without any charge.
