The Jerusalem Post reported that on May 6, Israeli Defense Minister Naftali Bennett has approved on building 7,000 new settlement units in the occupied West Bank. The Jerusalem Post has also quoted the defense minister saying that the approval came following the completion of the needed legal procedures. As a result, The Israeli government has intensified the construction of settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories in light of the current trend of annexing parts of the West Bank in July.
